WHAT
IS AN AUDIOLOGIST
As an audiologist I am a professional who diagnoses and treats
hearing and balance problems. I have been trained to diagnose,
manage and treat hearing or balance problems for individuals from
birth through adulthood. I determine whether a patient's problem
is medical or non-medical. If a patient's hearing problem is non-medical
in nature, I will prescribe a treatment plan that incorporates
a hearing aid or other assistive devices.
